Louise is my sister; five years older than me and just entering the perimenopause journey. She’s lucky enough to have me on one side and our eldest sister on the other, whether she asks for help or not!
She’s not one to visit the salon regularly (madness I know!), but just a month after her annual trim, she started asking questions about her receding hairline and why her hair felt greasy and limp all the time. That’s when I knew it was time for a bit of little sister magic (after all it would be rude not to).
Because she left the decisions to me, I went all in. We added caramels and blondes to give the illusion of thickness and texture, and I chopped it into a blunt bob to stop the length dragging her hair down. I shaped it around her face to hide her hairline and give her volume and movement. This also helps when she ties it up as it will give her coverage.
Of course, she didn’t leave empty-handed. She walked out with an armful of products—volumising mousse, fine hair sprays, root cover-up, argan oil, serums, and samples of shampoos and conditioners. Not something every client gets, but if you’ve got a sister in the business, you might as well benefit! Plus she's doing valuable research for me so I can pass all the information to you.
We also went through styling together, because what’s the point in having the right tools if you don’t know how to use them? She left with new brushes and more confidence in what to do with her hair. And the bonus? She’s now my at-home product tester, helping me research the best combinations to share with you all.
A word from Louise
"I've had a great time today thank you so much. Hubby and the kids love it and so do I! I can't wait to start trying my products and its just making me feel so much better!"
