Cassie hit perimenopause with more impact than she expected.

It crept up slowly at first, but when she finally took a proper look, she realised her hair had thinned much more than she'd noticed day to day. Cassie has always had fine hair so she really wasn't expecting it to get thinner. It hit her hard.

The changes in her body, mood, and confidence were piling up, and she told me, "I just don’t feel like myself anymore." Honest, open chats often happen in the salon chair and so we  chatted about how naff we can feel in perimenopause.  Being a very emotional time some tears were shed but in a caring, safe environment. I explained how common it is to experience hair thinning during perimenopause and how hormones affect the hair cycle, and how it’s not just her. Cassie decided she was ready to take action.

She started on Biotin and started taking the meno support supplements from Nutrition Geeks to support her hair a from the inside out.

Slowly but surely, she began to notice a difference. Her hair started feeling fuller again, and her new baby hairs started sprouting everywhere. Since her hair has started filling back in we've been careful not to damage whist colouring and styling; we have adapted with the new hair.

Cassie’s hair journey is ongoing, but her mindset has shifted. She told me the salon isn’t just about her hair; its about seeing someone that understands and cares. It's her day where she feels she can be herself, raw and honest.  Where she feels seen, supported, and a little more like herself again.

A word from Cassie

“I didn’t realise how much my hair thinning was affecting me until I noticed it growing back. Coming to the salon isn’t just about looking better, it’s about feeling better, too. It lifts me when I really need it.”
