An Evening of Community, Connection & Candles!

Back in September, the lovely Nicola from Fifibells Gifts and I teamed up to host an evening of community & support - and candle making!

The workshop kicked off with a talk from Nicola about all things essential oils, and their benefits in menopause; how some scents can help us feel cooler in a hot sweat, how some can calm us & how some can even give us a little lift of energy.

Next up, we got to making an essential oil blend. Each person chose either our Meno-Pause or Meno-Lift scent (more on the details of each here!). Now I know it sounds like an easy task to choose from two options - funnily enough there was a lot of debate over which would be best to make, coupled with a bit of brain fog and confusion.. But we got there in the end!

Once we'd chosen our blends, Nicola took us though step-by-step how to create the mixture & combine it with hot wax to make a candle.

Whilst the candles set, I took the group through a little more menopause guidance. We started with good old Menopause Bingo, which helps to relax everyone & open up an honest conversation. There’s always one or two shock revelations, and it really helps everyone feel a little less lost. We carried on the conversation after, brought some facts to the table, busted some myths & everyone helped each other by talking about their own experiences.

Once the candles had set & the workshop was over, everyone headed home with their very own handmade candle & a goodie bag filled with menopause-friendly treats:

💙 A handbag fan - for those unexpected hot flushes!

💙 A can of Trip - a mindfully blended drink to give a little calm in the chaos

💙 A ceramic peace pebble made by local potter croucherli - think fidget toys, but calming & cute

💙 A few Glowwa goodies - for hair & skin nutrition

💙 A hairbrush from Wetbrush - for gentle detangling

💙 An eye mask from SBS Sensory Retreats - for a little spa-like self care

💙 Sweets and biscuits (of course!)

💙 And finally, a small sample of our wax melts and room sprays from The Menopausal Fragrance Collection.

Not only did we introduce The Menopausal Fragrance Collection to local customers (and to you, blog reader - tap that link to nab yourself some home fragrance!) - but we finished the evening feeling accomplished in helping each individual felt seen, heard & supported in their menopause journey.

I can't wait to do more of these in 2027 - watch this space.
