The Menopausal Client Course is nearly ready! Filming in margate.
It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog. I’ve been busy writing and creating The Menopausal Client Course for hairdressers and it has completely taken over my life (in the best way).

Margate
The course has finally reached the filming stage. Which feels huge.
It’s been a real labour of love; and I am incredibly proud of it. I’ve been creating something to help hairdressers support their clients through menopausal hair changes and the personal changes that come with it too. It’s not all hair loss and hot sweats.
To bring it to life properly, I needed to film parts of it. So, I decided it was time for a little break away. My friend Chloe Lee Photo and I chose to take it to Margate.
Random choice? Maybe… totally! But it ticked all the boxes for us both, it was close enough, pretty and by the sea. We spent hours on Airbnb looking at all available venues and Margate won.
The sea always settles me; there’s nothing like it. It feels calming and grounding and I thought that would help me. I am slowly getting used to hearing my voice on video and getting used to being in front of the camera. But being near the sea definitely helped.
We had such a blast filming. It was hard work with all the retakes, scripts, my attention span and laughing at the wrong moments, but we had a blast.
Going with Chloe was the best decision. We’ve been friends for years, so we bounce off each other naturally. She held scripts, told me when to re-say things (many times), kept me smiling… and now she’s stuck with the editing too.
Proper teamwork.

What’s coming (and why I bothered)
This course is for hairdressers.
(If you’re not a hairdresser and you’re reading this because your own hair is changing, don’t worry. I see you. I’m hoping to create something for you too and soon! So, watch this space.)
But why have I spent all this time building the course?
Because we were never taught this.
At college we learned cutting, colouring, perming, styling. But no one taught us that hair changes through puberty, pregnancy, perimenopause, menopause.
No one taught us:
How hormones affect hair texture
Why a loyal client suddenly “doesn’t feel like herself”
Why regrowth becomes different
Why density changes
Why scalps behave differently
Why appointments can suddenly feel overwhelming
We were never taught how to navigate that.
This course covers:
Hormones (in a way that actually makes sense)
Scalp health
Consultation skills
Clear professional boundaries (we are not doctors)
It’s there to help hairdressers understand enough to help clients and direct them where they need to be.

What’s in it for clients?
Imagine sitting in the chair and not hearing:“Maybe try the health food shop?”“Erm… I’m not sure.”
Instead, imagine:
Feeling understood
Understanding your own hair better
Feeling heard
Knowing when it’s time to seek further advice
This isn’t about selling products. It’s about raising the standard of conversation, help and education.
Why I’m excited
Honestly? Because this is the bit where it stops being an idea in my head and starts becoming something that can genuinely change how hairdressers work.
I have not just been creating a course; I have been building the education I wish had existed when I started my training at 16. The kind that gives stylists confidence instead of guesswork and helps them understand what’s really happening when hormones shift and hair changes. Seeing it come together means fewer confused clients, fewer underprepared consultations and more empowered hairdressers.
That’s exciting. That’s impact. And I can feel it starting to move.

This is for a reason
Perimenopause and menopause aren’t going anywhere. Clients, hairdressers and women everywhere are confused. We are all feeling underprepared. And everyone is scrolling through endless TikToks and Reels on Instagram trying to figure out what supplement to buy next.
I want us all to do better than that. I want the help and support, women in perimenopause, menopause and stylists. Education has always been really important to me, and this is my way to help.
