Menopause Support Sessions

Before COVID, doctor's surgeries used to host menopause information and support evenings - which I found incredibly important, even for those not yet experiencing menopause. Years ago, I realised how crucial these events must be for women to learn about what is happening, what to expect, and to receive support from a reliable source.

Whether due to COVID, lack of funding or other reasons, this in-person community support just stopped. People were also flooding the internet with information from all directions, making it quite overwhelming.

Early in my decision to create The Menopausal Hairdresser, I wanted to restore support & assistance to women's lives. so, it's taken some time, but in March I finally hosted my first Menopause Support Session©2025 at my salon, and it was incredible (if I do say so myself!)

My home salon could accommodate 6 people, so I invited my clients to bring a friend, so that there were a few new faces & potential new clients that could benefit. We kicked off the evening with Menopause Bingo©2025, an excellent ice breaker that highlights less commonly discussed symptoms, initiates conversations about who is experiencing them and who isn't, and effectively addresses some of the stigma surrounding menopause symptoms.

We then went on to chat about the reasons behind any changes each individual had observed in their own hair. Our conversation covered a wide range of topics; including itchy scalps, hair loss, and changes in texture. Since this was my area of expertise, we covered a LOT of ground in a short space of time!

I gave a Recommendation Card to each person, for them to to jot down notes during our discussion. And to close the evening, we played a game of 'Truth or Myth' to address & debunk some untruths about Menopause.

I sent each person off with a Goodie Bag - the star of the show! I wanted the contents to align with my ethos as a professional, so inside I included:

  • Peace pebbles made by croucherli - perfect for alleviating anxiety and aiding in breath work when you need tranquility.

  • Menopause wax melts from Fifibells Gifts - soothing fragrances to calm, relax, and rejuvenate.

  • Samples of Maria Nila's 'Heal' Shampoo & Conditioner

  • Tropic eye masks - ideal for when your skin needs a boost.

  • Glowwa meno hair food - to provide nourishment from the inside out.

  • A few branded goodies from The Menopausal Hairdresser (me!)

  • Two very important menopause companions.. A handbag fan and chocolate!

Navigating menopause can often feel isolating, but you're not alone. Menopause Support Evenings are designed to create a welcoming space where women like you can connect and share their experiences.
